Hello! My name is Stephanie Martin and I am so happy that you have decided to make your health a priority. I am sure that you are curious as to how I can help you overcome obstacles and achieve your health goals, so I would like to give you a little background on my personal journey to achieving health through holistic principles.
On Mother's Day in 1993, I woke up unable to move. I went to bed the night before feeling great but somehow, overnight, my life changed. I sought the help of a half dozen doctors and not one could identify what was wrong with me. I spent the next year suffering from debilitating joint pain and suffering from skin and digestion problems. I was forced to take Prednisone and a slew of other prescription drugs just to be able to function.
Three years later, out of desperation, I sought the help of a holistic health practitioner. After four visits I was able to start reducing my medication and my suffering greatly diminished. I later adopted a plant-based, gluten-free diet to heal my digestive system. That proved to be the answer to my prayers. I am happy to say that it has been seventeen years since I experienced my autoimmune health crisis and that I am still symptom free and don't take one pill. What a testament to the power of real food!
Finding the root cause of a health problem is the first step to true healing. Therefore, I follow the Functional Medicine protocol which focuses on the individual as a whole and not just their symptoms. While prescription medications can be lifesaving in certain situations, most of the time they simply mask symptoms instead of correcting the underlying problem and cause unfortunate side effects. By implementing whole food nutrition plans, sensible exercise routines, and stress management techniques, you too can feel empowered to take control of your health and well being.
